Dirck Clark ’85, Board of Governors chair

Dirck Clark, a 1985 graduate of Missouri Western State University and current chair of the Board of Governors, has been named president of a new multi-state health care provider network.

St. Joseph-based Mosaic Life Care, St. Louis-based Mercy, and Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care have announced the creation of MPact Health with a goal of building on similar patient-centered cultures, leveraging technology and using their combined clinical and administrative expertise to increase access and improve health care for patients in Missouri and surrounding states.

The three organizations have been meeting together for several years to share best practices, including service delivery transformation, information technology, preparation of the workforce for the future and population health principles. Together, Mercy, Mosaic and MU Health Care have more than 5,600 hospital beds, more than 47,000 employees and approximately 3,000 employed and affiliated physicians. The health systems serve patients in urban and rural areas of Missouri and surrounding states.

Clark, formerly chief strategy officer for Mosaic Life Care, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western and went on to earn a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Missouri. He has served on Missouri Western’s Board of Governors since 2004, and served a critical role as board chair in securing the agreement that made Missouri Western the summer training camp home of the Kansas City Chiefs beginning in 2010.

Clark also serves as chair of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce Board. He previously served as a board member of the Missouri Biotechnology Association, as a member of the MWSU Foundation Board of Directors and as president of the Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
