Senior cinema students in the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Missouri Western State University will present their senior thesis films and portfolios at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1 in the KCP&L Lecture Hall inside the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex. Six short films will be screened. The screening is free and open to the public and recommended for mature audiences.

“This is the first year we have done this, and I am amazed at the talent the students will put on display,” said Dallas Henry, assistant professor of theatre and cinema. “Their short films are as good as you would see at many film festivals. This is special for me personally as many of these students came in when I did four years ago.”

Films to be shown include:

  • “Corvallis” by Christian Allison of Milan, Mo.
  • “Workflow” by Dan Banks of Kansas City, Mo.
  • “Oscar” by Curtis Edlin of Hunnewell, Mo.
  • “The D-Lister” by Kelsey Houser of St. Joseph
  • “The Alternative” by Blair Stalder of Liberty Hill, Texas
  • “To: Dave” by Elliot Swope of St. Joseph
