It’s the time of year when Missouri Western State University percussionists get “extreme” about their love of the percussive arts.The 12th annual eXtreme Percussion Show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19 in the Potter Hall Theater. Tickets will be sold at the door only and are $6 for the general public and $4 for students with college ID. There are no advance sales or reserved seating, so arrive early.

The evening will be filled with the high energy entertainment and outstanding musicianship of 28 Missouri Western percussionists as well as guests from St. Joseph and the surrounding area, including young percussionists from Alford Music of St. Joseph and from Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Mo.

The show includes drum set groups, large drum line exhibitions and the Missouri Western Steel Drum Band. The evening also features soloists performing original compositions and dramatic lighting effects. Dr. Dennis Rogers, director of percussion at Missouri Western, is the director and producer of eXtreme Percussion.
