The Department of Economics, Political Science and Sociology and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Missouri Western State University will host candidate forums for candidates in the St. Joseph city primary elections at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and Thursday, Jan. 30 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Spratt Hall. The forums are free and open to the public. The primary election will be on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

There are two contested primaries in the city. The Jan. 28 forum will be devoted to the ten candidates for At-Large City Councilmember. The Jan. 30 forum will include the three candidates for District V Councilmember. Three candidates who are unopposed for reelection have also been invited to the Jan. 30 forum to offer their views and respond to questions.

Missouri Western will also hold candidate forums March 25 and 27 before the general election on April 8 for all contested races.
