The Center for Multicultural Education and the Division of Student Affairs at Missouri Western State University will hold the annual Drum Major for Justice Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Enright Community Room, Spratt Hall 214-216. “If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice,” said Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the Drum Major for Justice Awards honor the legacy of the civil rights leader. A member of the St. Joseph community, a Missouri Western student and a Missouri Western employee will be honored for their commitment to social justice, multicultural education and, in the case of student nominees, academic excellence.

Nominations for the Drum Major for Justice Awards will be accepted through Wednesday, Jan. 15. Nomination forms are available at www.missouriwestern.edu/cme.
