Missouri Western State University and Live Well St. Joe will host a celebration of the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in Remington and Agenstein Halls on the Missouri Western campus. The event is free and open to the public. Those who have quit smoking in the past year are especially invited to celebrate the step they’ve taken to better health.

A reception with a build-your-own ice cream sundae bar, cake and snacks will be held in the Remington Hall atrium. There will be a free showing of the film “Forces of Nature” in the Bushman Planetarium inside Agenstein Hall at 5:30 p.m. Participants will be able to register for door prizes and share their stories of quitting tobacco use.
