The Potter Gallery at Missouri Western State University will open for the 2013-2014 school year with an exhibition by photographer Angie Jennings titled “Modern Streets of an Ancient Empire” Sept. 4 through Oct. 3. The Potter Gallery is located inside Potter Hall on the Missouri Western campus and is free and open to the public. It is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Jennings’ exhibition is the culmination of her travels through China during 2003 and 2010. She uses traditional silver printing, photogravure and modern technology to depict the old and new of China. Her images address how modernity is growing within this most ancient country.

Jennings has been a photographer for more than 20 years. Her work has been exhibited locally as well as in Kansas, Colorado, Oregon, Oklahoma and Beijing.
