Missouri Western State University has announced the winners of its first 48 Hour Film Project. The competition was held from Friday, March 22 through. Sunday, March 24. Teams had 48 hours to write, shoot and edit the film, after being given a genre, a prop, a line of dialogue and a character.  There were 12 teams with 112 participants.

A screening of the films was held Sunday evening, two hours after the deadline. The winners were selected by a panel of nine judges that ranged from talent agents, managers, producers, directors, cinematographers and Missouri Western faculty members.

The following awards were given:

“Unfortunate”: Best Overall Film, Best Writing and Best Actor, Sebastian Smith.

“Body Soap”: Audience Award for Best Film and Best Director, Josh Comninellis.

“The Traveling Scout”:  Best Use of Prop and Best Editing, Nathan Pickman.
