Missouri Western State University’s International Lecture Series presents a talk on Sri Lanka at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 in the Hoff Conference Room, Blum Student Union room 219. The talk about Sri Lankan culture will be given by Sachit Polpitiya, a Missouri Western student majoring in biology. The lecture series is sponsored by the office of international student services and the Division of Student Affairs. It is free and open to the public.

In addition, campus dining services will prepare vada, an authentic Sri Lankan deep-fried, vegetarian, spicy snack food. The vada will be served during regular lunch service in the Blum Union dining hall, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 2, the day before the lecture.

Future lectures in the series will focus on Sweden at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Blum 223, and Saudi Arabia at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the Hoff Conference Room, Blum 219. In addition, the international student affairs office will hold an International Fair on Thursday, Nov. 8. Details will be announced soon.
