Academics

F-1 Regulations
F-1 students must maintain full time status with at least 12 credit hours per semester. At least 9 hours must be in-person classes and usually no more than 3 hours online per semester. Exemptions can be made for students in their last semester or if there are no in-person alternatives for required classes.

Change of Major

All students must submit a change of major form on GoldLink. After this form has been submitted, international students must present a copy to the Global Engagement Office to update the I-20 form. I-20’s must be updated within 10 days of an official change of major.

Change of Education Level

International students that graduate from Missouri Western with a Bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a Master’s degree at Missouri Western must reapply to the Graduate program. International students will have to provide a letter of acceptance and updated financial records before their I-20’s will be changed by the Global Engagement Office.

GPA Requirements

All international students must keep at least a 2.0 GPA each semester to maintain good standing with the university and to keep the Griffon Guarantee Scholarship. Consecutive semesters under a 2.0 GPA may result in dismissal from the university and your eligibility to remain in the United States.
