For this trip, you would either take PSY460, JOU428, or HON395
PSY460/HON395: This course traces the fascinating journey of psychology from ambiguous ideas about insanity to a modern science grounded in research and the scientific method. Students will explore the roots of mental illness and treatment, studying figures like Jean Charcot and Sigmund Freud alongside movements such as psychoanalysis, eugenics, behaviorism, and ecological systems theory. A highlight of the class is a study abroad trip in May 2026 to London, England, and Vienna, Austria, where students will visit key sites tied to psychology’s history. Along the way, students will also build cultural awareness skills essential for traveling abroad and the broader field of psychology.
JOU 428/HON395: Multimedia Storytelling: This immersive course explores the art and craft of multimedia storytelling through a global lens, culminating in a 10-day immersive experience in Vienna and London. Students will engage in hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, and critical analysis of contemporary media from around the world.
