As a Griffon Edge Mentor, you get the opportunity to lead a group of 20-30 first-year students through Griffon Edge. You’ll participate in high-energy social events, welcome and mentor incoming students, and compete in the highly contested Color Team Competition. We select 60 – 70 students for this leadership role each year. This role is a great fit for people who enjoy mentorship and want to support fellow students in having a great experience in college.

$400 scholarship (Direct Cost Rule applies)

As an Orientation Leader you will work with a team of 10 – 15 other students to facilitate Missouri Western’s summer orientation program, Griffon Orientation (GO). Orientation Leaders will guide a new group of 10 – 25 students through a full day of programming, help answer questions, and communicate with freshmen following the GO session. Orientation Leaders may be asked to assist with limited online orientation sessions as needed. The Office of Admissions hires 15-20 Orientation Leaders each year. It is an hourly position, students must apply through the Human Resources website.

Hourly Student Employment Position 

Student Ambassadors are the face of Missouri Western. Student Ambassadors work in the Office of Admissions weekly throughout the semester giving tours to campus visitors. Because of their respected status on campus, Student Ambassadors are also chosen to represent the University at our most prestigious events including Commencement. As an Ambassador you will gain valuable skills in public speaking, versatility, and professionalism. Students applying for this role need to have availability to make a long-term commitment of attending two tour times a week for a full semester. Student Ambassadors are selected at the start and end of each semester.
