What are the requirements for my child to attend Y’s Kids World?
A child must be 2 years old and completely potty trained. Your child can be as old as 6 years of age. The child must be current on all shots for their age and have had a physical within the last year. smile
How many children will be in the facility and how many people will be supervising my child during the day?
The facility is licensed for a maximum of 30 children at any given hour of the day. The child to adult ratio for the age groups that attend our facility is 10 children to 1 adult. All employees are supervised by the YMCA Center Director during the operational day.
When is Y’s Kids World open?
The facility is open year round, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the event of bad weather, Y’s Kids World will close when Missouri Western is closed.
Do I need to bring a sack lunch for my child?
A hot lunch is provided for your child at no extra charge. Lunch and snacks will be prepared in the kitchen at Y’s Kids World. Lunch will served from 11:40 a.m. until approximately 12:15 p.m. Breakfast is served at 8:00 a.m. and the afternoon snack is served at 3:00 p.m.
What do I need to bring with my child?
You only need to bring a small blanket and a travel pillow, if wanted, for Quiet Time. Toys, candy and outside food or drink are not allowed in the center, as this can be distracting from the learning environment.
Do you know any background information on the employees?
All of Y’s Kids World employees have to go through a child abuse and neglect screening and a criminal record check. They also are required to have a Tuberculin test done yearly. All Y’s Kids World employees are required to be First Aid and CPR certified and take at least 12 clock hours of training yearly.
Can anyone pick my child up from the facility?
On our enrollment sheets there is a space for persons authorized to pick a child up from the facility. If that person isn’t on your enrollment form, then that child doesn’t leave with them. All persons never before seen by our staff will have their state issued Drivers License (or I.D.) checked before picking up the child.
If I have a break between classes can my child stay there?
Yes. Your child may stay at Y’s Kid’s World during your breaks. We are here to serve your childcare needs.
