Missouri Western State University was pleased to dedicate an entire week to those striving to be entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
The Missouri Western Center for Entrepreneurship hosted several events throughout the week of March 28 through April 1 that were designed for those interested in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Not only did Missouri Western focus on the current students involved with the Center for Entrepreneurship, they stepped outside of the university. Community members and alumni were invited to participate in the many events throughout the week.<\/p>\n
The week began on Monday with a \u201cKickoff with Alpha Kappa Psi,\u201d the business fraternity. On Tuesday, there was a breakfast and a speaker talking about technology and apps in business. Wednesday was the weekly Cup of Joe meeting. Thursday featured another speaker who spoke about protecting your business idea and on Friday, there was a luncheon with Steven Craig, a major benefactor of Missouri Western and the namesake of the Steven L. Craig School of Business.<\/p>\n
\u201cGetting the opportunity to have Steven Craig come talk to us at school was just amazing,\u201d Braxton Fuller, a senior business student, said. \u201cHe was very open about his success in life, and you can tell just by the way he talked that he wanted the same for all of us. I am really glad Western did that for us, and gave us the chance to listen to someone who was so inspiring.\u201d<\/p>\n
Craig\u2019s purpose in speaking was to inspire students and future entrepreneurs. He told his story and his process of becoming a entrepreneur. The luncheon was at noon, and although preregistration was required, there was a large turn out.<\/p>\n
\u201cOut of all the things I have attended at Western, I am definitely glad this was one of them,\u201d Alayna Menesses, a student in the Craig School of Business, said. \u201cSteven Craig had so much to say. Leaving the luncheon, I felt more inspired than ever to become an entrepreneur.\u201d<\/p>\n
Having the opportunity to conclude the week with Craig was very fortunate. Many students were glad to hear him speak.<\/p>\n
