How many years have you worked on Missouri Western campus? <\/b><\/p>\n
12 years in the Library\u2019s<\/a> Java City, but 17 years in total.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite drink to make? <\/b><\/p>\n Javalanches, I really like to make them all and I want to make them perfect.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite drink? <\/b><\/p>\n Regular brewed coffee with milk.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s a pet peeve of yours? <\/b><\/p>\n When people order a drink that they\u2019ve had somewhere else, but they don\u2019t really know what it is. They come up with these freak-ichiniannos (Pam-ism).<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite tv show? <\/b><\/p>\n Game of Thrones<\/a>, The Big Bang Theory, or The British Baking Show<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n What values are most important to you? <\/b><\/p>\n Work ethic, my family and taking care of them.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s an unknown fact about you, that you\u2019re willing to share? <\/b><\/p>\n That I have really long hair. I haven\u2019t cut my hair since I got married and that was 30 years ago. <\/span><\/p>\n How do you feel about working Blum compared to the Library? <\/b><\/p>\n I miss the library, but this is really nice. The view is nice and I can make more noise than usual.<\/span><\/p>\n What has been the most noteworthy experience for you at Western?<\/b><\/p>\n A lot of the time kids will ask me to get involved and they\u2019ll ask me to do something like judge a contest or do interviews. <\/span><\/p>\n If you could have one superpower, what would it be? <\/b><\/p>\n I wouldn\u2019t mind being a fly on the wall sometimes or to be invisible. That would be good.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite decade that you\u2019ve lived through?<\/b><\/p>\n Right now is great. I mean with my kids it was fun in the\u2019 80s and \u201890s when they were little, but it\u2019s a new kind of a fun now.<\/span><\/p>\n What topic are you most knowledgeable on? <\/b><\/p>\n I\u2019m really good at British history from about the 1400s to the 1500s. It\u2019s just my favorite time in history and I\u2019ll read anything I can get my hands on. During the time period with Queen Elizabeth<\/a> and Henry VIII<\/a>, I\u2019ll read anything about it so I\u2019m pretty knowledgeable on it.<\/span><\/p>\n What was your first job? <\/b><\/p>\n My very first job I was 14 and I worked in a nursing home in the kitchen. It was run by German nuns and they had this dumbwaiter. We could get inside of the dumbwaiter and go up the floors. We weren\u2019t supposed to, but it was so much fun. It was cooking in a nursing home. I made .86 cents an hour.<\/span><\/p>\n If you weren\u2019t an all-star barista, what would you be? <\/b><\/p>\n If I could turn back time, I would probably love to go into a nursing profession or something like that.<\/span><\/p>\n If you drop a hot cup of coffee what would be the first word to come out of your mouth?<\/b><\/p>\n A curse word you know, but I really try to say sugar.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your favorite aspect of this job?<\/b><\/p>\n I love seeing the kids I know day-to-day and then year-to-year and seeing how some of them change and grow up so much. It\u2019s pretty amazing. And then they leave and I wonder about them. <\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s \u00a0your favorite thing about Western or St. Joe?<\/b><\/p>\n I love Missouri Western. The campus is beautiful and every year there\u2019s something new. The people are great.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s the bravest or stupidest thing you\u2019ve ever done?<\/b><\/p>\n Well, I jumped off of a rock cliff in a park down in south Missouri that was about 20 feet tall. That\u2019s probably the craziest thing I ever did.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s the most daring thing that you\u2019ve done that you\u2019re willing to share?<\/b><\/p>\n When I was much younger, I drove very fast. That\u2019s about the most daring thing. I would ride motorcycles and drive fast. But that\u2019s a long time ago.<\/span><\/p>\n How would you describe Western students using only three words?<\/b><\/p>\n Lots of fun.<\/span><\/p>\n How would you describe coffee using only three words?<\/b><\/p>\n Gift from the Gods. I don\u2019t know, I\u2019ve always loved it. It\u2019s a little more than three words.<\/span><\/p>\n What advice do you have for the students that you serve?<\/b><\/p>\n Don\u2019t give up. The wheel will turn. Things will change. Just stick it out.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
