These answers will look different for everyone and is a personal journey to discover these answers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spiritual wellness relates to our sense of life meaning and purpose. it includes possessing a set of guiding beliefs, principles, or values that help give directions to one\u2019s life. It is enhanced by having the ability to focus on ourselves, others, our environment, and our purpose. We can express ourselves creatively, having an openness to new ideas, selfless concern for the well-being of others, and having a strong support network of family and friends. Spiritual wellness may or may not involve religious activities. According to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wellness Everyday<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, studies have shown that faith, hope, forgiveness, expressions of love, social support, compassion and prayer have a positive impact on wellness and our ability to heal from illness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is a list of ways to encourage your student to foster their spiritual well-being:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take Time to Enjoy a Little Peace and Quiet<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make a Gratitude List<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go out and Experience Nature<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep a Journal<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend a Religious Service<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recite Self-Affirmations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Focus on Hobbies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speak with Someone They Trust<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meditate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practice Yoga<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volunteer in your Community<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spend Time with Family<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spiritual wellness is important for your student\u2019s overall well-being. It can help your student through tough times. They will be strong emotionally and mentally as it can help your student cope with life\u2019s challenges, and aid them in making decisions that are in alignment with their values and beliefs. In the end, it will provide your student with a greater sense of peace, joy, and contentment and ensure their overall health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Center for Diversity staff is more than happy to help if your student needs guidance on fostering their spiritual wellness.
