Candidates for Graduation

To be considered as a candidate for graduation, the student must submit an Application for Graduation to the Registrar’s Office (Eder Hall 102 or fax with credit card information to 816-271-4229). To assure that a candidate’s records is reviewed prior to the final semester by the Graduate Coordinator in the Registrar’s Office, the following deadlines for filing should be observed:

Fall graduation:  July 1 ($25 late fee for applications received after the 5th day of Fall semester)
Spring graduation:  October 1 ($25 late fee for applications received after the 5th day of Spring semester)  
Summer graduation:  March 1 ($25 late fee for applications received after the 2nd day of Summer term) 

Note: Official transcripts with graduation information and the MWSU diploma will not be released if any financial obligation exists with the University.

Commencement is held in December and May. Participation in commencement is voluntary on the part of the student. Students who complete all degree requirements in the Fall will be eligible to attend the DECEMBER commencement ceremony. Students who complete all degree requirements in the Spring and Summer will be eligible to attend the MAY commencement ceremony. Application For Graduation – Undergraduate (pdf): A $40 graduation fee for the first degree (additional $10 for subsequent degrees) must be submitted with the graduation application. Please note the addition of a $25 late fee referenced above. The graduation fee includes domestic shipping for the diploma/transcript. International shipments ONLY must be initiated by the student and use eShipGlobal.
