{"id":9644,"date":"2020-05-07T14:52:57","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T19:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/?p=9644"},"modified":"2020-05-07T14:53:14","modified_gmt":"2020-05-07T19:53:14","slug":"fellowships-awarded-to-nursing-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2020\/05\/07\/fellowships-awarded-to-nursing-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Fellowships awarded to nursing students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">May 7, 2020&#8211;Eight Missouri Western State University students have received 2020 Nursing Fellowship scholarships from the Mosaic Life Care Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In honor of Nurses\u2019 Week, the Foundation has announced their commitment to the annual fellowship that will award $10,000 each up to ten qualifying applicants. This year\u2019s recipients were chosen from applicants currently enrolled in nursing programs throughout the Mosaic service region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Nursing Fellowship lays the foundation for a successful nursing career. Following graduation and obtaining a Missouri State Nursing License, each Mosaic Life Care Foundation Nursing Fellowship recipient will be partnered with a professional mentor throughout their first three years of employment with Mosaic, participate in community engagement opportunities and develop clinical and leadership skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eight of the nine recipients this year are students at Missouri Western. They are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jennifer Buch, of St. Joseph<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kourtney Chaney, of St. Joseph<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shelbie Gaines, of Watson, Missouri<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jaileigh Hamlin, of St. Joseph<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lauren Hill, of Troy, Kansas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alyssa Hough, of Gower, Missouri<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ashley Moeck, of St. Joseph<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Holly Poppa, of Bethany, Missouri<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Missouri Western State University is a student-centered learning community preparing individuals for lives of excellence through applied learning.
