Britton\u2019s piece is among the works selected for the 2019 Irene Rosenzweig Biennial Juried Exhibition at The Arts &amp; Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC) in Pine Bluff, Ark. The exhibition runs Oct. 10, 2019, through Jan. 4, 2020.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Oct. 8, 2019\u2014 Peter C\u00a0Britton, assistant professor of art at Missouri Western State University, has been selected for the 2019 Irene Rosenzweig Biennial Juried Exhibition at The Arts &amp; Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC) in Pine Bluff.<\/p>\n<p>His digital metal print \u201cTakate\u201d is part of the juried exhibition showcasing mid-South artists.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Takate\u2019 represents existence without constraints,\u201d\u00a0Britton\u00a0explained. \u201cIn this piece, the subject doesn\u2019t have a brain but is still a sentient being that is fully functional as we know it and is not limited by the physical constraints of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Britton teaches game design and digital animation. He previously taught at Digital Media Arts College and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n<p>He has worked on real-time visualization for real estate using Unity and Unreal gaming engines. In addition to interactive and noninteractive media, he has developed and designed game controller add-ons for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming systems.<\/p>\n<p>He has a Master of Fine Arts degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, both from Miami International University in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The Rosenzweig exhibition opens Thursday, Oct. 10, with a free public reception from 5\u20137 p.m. Awards will be presented at 5:30.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is an opportunity for established and up-and-coming artists to gain recognition and earn cash awards. It is open to artists in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. Artwork in all traditional forms including paintings, drawings, original prints, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture and photography is accepted. The prizes awarded are: Best in Show ($1,000), First Place ($500), Second Place ($200) and three $100 Merit prizes.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition runs through Jan. 4, 2020.
