Darrell Morrison<\/p><\/div>\n

April 26, 2019\u2014Darrell R. Morrison, associate vice chancellor for finance at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, has been named vice president for financial planning and administration at Missouri Western State University. Morrison will start his new position June 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cDarrell Morrison\u2019s wealth of experience in managing public university finances and administration will be a tremendous asset to our administrative team,\u201d said Dr. Robert Vartabedian, Missouri Western\u2019s president. \u201cI believe he will provide outstanding leadership to the Division of Financial Planning and Administration and wise counsel to the President\u2019s Cabinet and the Board of Governors on financial matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am excited to be coming to Missouri Western and the St. Joseph area,\u201d Morrison said. \u201cI appreciate the confidence that Dr. Vartabedian, the Board of Governors and the search committee have placed in me and am anxious to hit the ground running. I look forward to working with the Board and my campus colleagues as we move ahead under the direction of our new president, Matt Wilson.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to his current position at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Morrison served as the vice president for business affairs at Texas A&M University-San Antonio and as the vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He has also held several administrative positions at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, including controller, associate vice president for finance\/director of financial services and vice president for finance.<\/p>\n

Morrison holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Henderson State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.<\/p>\n

As vice president for financial planning, Morrison will be Missouri Western\u2019s chief financial officer reporting directly to Dr. Vartabedian. He will oversee accounting services, business office, human resources, information technology, physical plant, police department, purchasing, risk management and contracts for the bookstore and food services.<\/p>\n

Morrison succeeds Dr. Cale Fessler, who left Missouri Western in February to accept the position of associate vice chancellor of budget and financial planning at the University of Arkansas.<\/p>\n
