Missouri Western State University\u2019s 2017-2018 Theatre Season concludes with Noel Coward\u2019s \u201cBlithe Spirit\u201d April 13-21 in the Potter Hall Theater. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 19, 20 and 21, with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. April 15.<\/p>\n
The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic from the playwright of Private Lives offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira, who is called up by a visiting \u201chappy medium,\u201d one Madame Arcati. As the personalities clash, Charles\u2019 current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed, \u201cpasses over,\u201d joins Elvira, and the two \u201cblithe spirits\u201d haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.<\/p>\n
