The Board of Governors at Missouri Western State University accepted an unmodified, or \u201cclean,\u201d opinion of the university\u2019s financial statements from auditors BKD. There were no findings of material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in the audit.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a team effort,\u201d said Dr. Cale Fessler, vice president for financial planning and administration. \u201cIt takes a lot of hard work obviously from accounting services, but from many other units across campus, particularly financial aid.\u201d Part of the audit evaluates compliance with major federal award program regulations.<\/p>\n
The audit noted no unusual accounting policies or methods, no disagreements with management and no difficulties encountered during the audit.<\/p>\n
Also Thursday, the Board approved a bid of $341,445 to license the Canvas learning management system from Instructure for five years. Canvas is an online course management system used to provide students with access to grades, course content, communication and assessment tools. It replaces the university\u2019s current course management software.<\/p>\n
