Award-winning producer and musician Rudy Currence will perform at Missouri Western State University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Spratt Hall. The concert, part of Missouri Western\u2019s Black Heritage Month celebration, is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Currence has written and produced songs for R&B\/Pop singe\"Currence1\"<\/a>rs Mya and Ray J, major motion pictures like \u201cThe Bourne Identity\u201d and \u201cMinority Report,\u201d hip hop producer David Banner, and legendary producer Quincy Jones. In 2013, Rudy won a Grammy and Dove Award for his production on Lecrae\u2019s album \u201cGravity.\u201d Most recently, Rudy was Grammy nominated for writing \u201cSunday AM\u201d for four-time Grammy Award winning singer\/songwriter and national recording artist, Karen Clark Sheard.<\/p>\n

Currence sings and plays keyboard, trumpet and guitar. He has made several national television appearances, including ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View\u201d and BET\u2019s \u201c106th<\/sup> and Park.\u201d He still enjoys the success and fan support gained through his indie albums: \u201cMore Than You\u2019ll Ever Know,\u201d \u201cHere With You\u201d and \u201cLast Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n
