The breakfast is free but reservations are required. Call 816-271-5646 by Thursday, Nov. 5.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Laney\u2019s presentation is titled \u201cMissouri Western: 100 Years of Transforming Our Community.\u201d He will focus on the impact of Missouri Western on the community throughout its 100-year history and the University\u2019s plans for the next century.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Laney joined Mosaic Life Care as its president and CEO in 2009. Prior to coming to St. Joseph, he had served 20 years at Cook Children\u2019s Health Care System, including eight years as the president of the Cook Children\u2019s Physician Network.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Laney earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas, received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, completed a Pediatric Neurology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and received a Master of Science in medical management at the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Laney is the former president of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association and is one of the\u00a030 Best Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems,\u00a0according to\u00a0<em>Becker\u2019s Hospital Review<\/em>. He and his wife, Mary Margaret, are co-chairs of Missouri Western\u2019s Centennial Capital Campaign along with Dan and Dale Boulware.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1988, the Eggs and Issues Speaker Series has provided a community educational forum that encourages the exchange of ideas on current topics.
