{"id":3196,"date":"2013-03-13T11:21:56","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T16:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lamp1.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/?p=1058"},"modified":"2019-06-04T16:19:02","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T21:19:02","slug":"missouri-western-students-present-a-sonic-interpretation-of-the-art-at-albrecht-kemper-museum-of-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2013\/03\/13\/missouri-western-students-present-a-sonic-interpretation-of-the-art-at-albrecht-kemper-museum-of-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Missouri Western Students Present a &#8220;Sonic Interpretation&#8221; of the Art at Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students in music technology courses at Missouri Western State University will present their \u201csonic interpretation\u201d of works of art at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, 2818 Frederick Ave.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Students the Introduction to Computer Music and Music for Multimedia and Internet Applications course taught by Dr. Michael Austin, assistant professor of music, have chosen paintings and sculpture from the museum\u2019s permanent collection and have created sound design projects that help visitors \u201clisten\u201d to the works of art.<\/p>\n<p>The audio tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Students will lead visitors through the gallery and play their aural artwork in front of the visual artwork that inspired it. Visitors can enter the galleries for a donation of any amount and can participate in the concurrent wine tasting for $10.<\/p>\n<p><em>Missouri Western State University is a comprehensive regional university providing a blend of traditional liberal arts and professional degree programs.
