A prominent scholar and national leader in the field of entrepreneurship will speak at Missouri Western State University.\u00a0 Dr. Donald F. Kuratko will present \u201cEntrepreneurial Imperative\u201d at 8:30 a.m. March 20 in the Forrest Hoff Conference Room, Blum Union 219. The presentation is free and open to the public with no reservations needed.<\/p>\n
In his talk, Dr. Kuratko will provide unique insights into unleashing innovation within organizations, reinvigorating individuals for innovation, understanding entrepreneurial thinking, breaking old paradigms and discovering barriers to innovation.<\/p>\n
Dr. Kuratko is the Jack M. Gill Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship Professor of Entrepreneurship; Executive and Academic Director, Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington. He has authored or co-authored over 190 articles and 30 books on aspects of entrepreneurship and corporate innovation.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Dr. Kuratko has been consultant on corporate innovation to a number of major Fortune 100 corporations and he is the executive director of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers, an organization of over 250 top university entrepreneurship centers throughout the world.<\/p>\n
Dr. Kuratko was honored by his peers in Entrepreneur<\/em> magazine as the number one entrepreneurship program director in the nation, as well as being selected one of the top entrepreneurship professors in the U.S. by Fortune<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n Dr. Kuratko has been named one of the Top 50 Entrepreneurship Scholars in the world and was the recipient of the Riata Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar Award. In 2011 he was the inaugural recipient of the Karl Vesper Entrepreneurship Pioneer Award for his career dedication to developing the field of entrepreneurship.
