Missouri Western State University invites the community to its celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday, at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 in Murphy Hall, room 224. It is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
The festival celebration will include poetry, folk art, singing, the releasing of sky lanterns and traditional festival tea and foods.<\/p>\n
The Mid-Autumn Festival has been celebrated in China for thousands of years. The harvest celebration traditionally is a time for Chinese people to return to their home and reunite with their families.<\/p>\n
