The Kansas City Chiefs first held their summer training camp at Missouri Western State University in 2010. The initial five-year commitment expires this year.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kansascity.com\/sports\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\/article1310630.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">Kansas City Star reported <\/a>that it appears the Chiefs are leaning toward returning to St. Joseph next year. &#8220;Our focus right now is to work with St. Joe and to work with Missouri Western to make sure we can continue there, and we feel very positive we\u2019ll be able to do that,&#8221; Chiefs president Mark Donovan said. St. Joseph television station KQ2 also reported on Donovan&#8217;s remarks.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Kurt McGuffin, Missouri Western\u2019s director of athletics, told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newspressnow.com\/sports\/college\/missouri_western_griffons\/article_1b5400cf-20bf-5d2b-9884-a1f9790353fd.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the St. Joseph News-Press <\/a>that discussions about the Chiefs returning have been positive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel very confident in the type of people we have at Missouri Western running it, and I know the Chiefs are confident in us,\u201d McGuffin said. \u201cWe make it very easy for them to come to camp here in St. Joe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the luncheon, the Chiefs showed video highlights of training camp, with players and coaches wired for sound.
