Tickets are now on sale for the two musicals being staged in the third season of Western Playhouse, the summer theatre company at Missouri Western State University. Meredith Willson\u2019s perennial favorite \u201cThe Music Man\u201d will be produced June 20-28, and the award-winning new show \u201cMother Divine\u201d will be produced July 11-19.<\/p>\n
Tickets cost $22.50 for adults. Youth under 17 are $9.50 for the first two, then $1 for each additional child. All seats are reserved seating.<\/p>\n
Tickets may be purchased online at www.westernplayhouse.com. There is a $2.50 fee per ticket for online ordering, and the discount pricing for more than two children is not available. \u201cMusic Man\u201d won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, when it debuted on Broadway in 1957. With familiar tunes like \u201cSeventy-six Trombones,\u201d \u201c(Ya Got) Trouble\u201d and \u201cTill There Was You,\u201d \u201cThe Music Man\u201d is one of the most beloved musicals ever produced. It will be performed at 7:30 p.m. June 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28, and at 2 p.m. June 22.<\/p>\n
\u201cMother Divine\u201d is a comic musical twist on the real-life events of Depression-era Harlem evangelist Father Divine. It was one of ten shows selected for the New York Musical Theatre Festival\u2019s 2013 Next Link Project out of more than 200 shows submitted. The New York Musical Festival is considered the preeminent festival for launching new musicals. \u201cMother Divine\u201d. It will be performed at 7:30 p.m. July 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. July 13.<\/p>\n
