Pianist Maya Tuylieva will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Spratt Hall on the campus of Missouri Western State University. The recital is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
Dr. Tuylieva has been described as \u201ca profound artist, capable of commanding the attention of the audience with her inimitable sincerity and conviction.\u201d A native of Turkmenistan, Dr. Tuylieva\u2019s program will feature music composed by fellow native, Nury Hallmammedov. The \u201cBallada\u201d and \u201cSounds of Dutar\u201d masterfully combine elements of Western music with the colors and harmonies of Turkmenistan. Schumann\u2019s \u201cKreisleriana\u201d and Sonatas by Haydn and Scarlatti round out the program.<\/p>\n
