\u201cThe Drowsy Chaperone,\u201d with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and book by Bob Martin and Dan McKellar, is a hilarious tribute to the Jazz Age shows of the 1920s. A diehard musical theatre fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and the musical comes to life in his living room while he provides wry commentary.<\/p>\n
The original Broadway production won five Tony Awards in 2006, including for Best Book and Best Original Score. It also won seven Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Musical.<\/p>\n
