The Potter Gallery at Missouri Western State University will exhibit \u201cThreshold,\u201d large-scale paintings by Kansas City-based artist Misha Kligman, from Oct. 10 to Nov. 7. The gallery is located inside Potter Hall on the Missouri Western campus. It is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and admission is free.<\/p>\n
Kligman is an adjunct art faculty member at Missouri Western. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland State University in Ohio and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kansas. His work has been exhibited extensively throughout the Midwest.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe works in the Threshold are hopeful and unironic gestures,\u201d Kligman wrote on his website, www.mishakligman.com<\/a>. \u201cThey are hopeful in a sense that maybe a painting can be more than an object but a kind of place where the past and future collide, in the process revealing that which is most hidden \u2013 our present.\u201d<\/p>\n Missouri Western State University is a comprehensive regional university providing a blend of traditional liberal arts and professional degree programs.
