March 31, 2026–Missouri Western State University and the City of St. Joseph have partnered to expand access to higher education for City employees and their families. Through MoWest\u2019s Corporate Education Program, full-time City employees, along with their spouses and dependents, will have access to a 20 percent tuition discount for eligible undergraduate and graduate programs at MoWest.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis opportunity supports employees who wish to further their education, develop new skills, or advance their careers while continuing to serve the community,\u201d said Dawn Lanning, assistant city manager. \u201cBy working together to make higher education more accessible, the City and MoWest are helping build a stronger workforce, supporting lifelong learning, and creating opportunities that benefit both our employees and the community they serve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMoWest could not do all that we do to serve the community without the ongoing support of the City of St. Joseph and its residents,\u201d said Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, MoWest president. \u201cThe City helps us host numerous major events, supports our Center for Service, operates the Thomas Eagleton Indoor Pool, and most recently partnered with us to provide free city transit bus rides for our students, faculty and staff. We\u2019re thrilled to provide greater access to educational opportunities to City employees and their families.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Triumph Foods was previously announced as<\/span> the first partner in the Corporate Education Program<\/span><\/a>.
