Oct. 17, 2025–The Bushman Planetarium at Missouri Western State University will present a public showing of \u201cSecret of the Cardboard Rocket\u201d and “Moon Witch”\u00a0 at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Secret of the Cardboard Rocket”<\/span><\/p>\n

Embark on an outstanding adventure as two children spend a night touring the solar system alongside their ship\u2019s navigator, an astronomy book. This short is produced with modern 3-D digital animation and a soundtrack with spectacular effects created at George Lucas\u2019s Skywalker Ranch.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Moon Witch”<\/span><\/p>\n

All around the world, people have imagined seeing all sorts of strange things and faces in the moon. Moon Witch is a fast-paced, entertaining and informative look at the moon \u2013 why the moon appears larger near the horizon, why it seems like the moon follows you, and why the moon goes through phases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bushman Planetarium features a Digistar 4 projection system and a dome that is tilted slightly, rather than directly overhead, making viewing easier. The Dolby 5.1 surround sound system enhances your viewing experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children age 13 and under, students, employees, military and senior citizens age 60 and up. Planetarium tickets must be purchased in advance, either online at<\/span> missouriwestern.edu\/planetarium<\/span><\/a> or in person, during regular business hours.
