Missouri Western State University department of music presents the Spring Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2618 Seneca Street, St. Joseph. The concert will feature University Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Choruses as well as the Chamber Singers. The concert will feature folk tunes from multiple countries and sacred and secular music from the recent and ancient past.<\/p>\n
The Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s Choruses will perform literature including\u00a0<\/em>\u201cLoosin Yelav,\u201d\u00a0an Armenian folk song,\u00a0\u201cFor Good\u201d\u00a0from the Broadway musical\u00a0\u201cWicked,\u201d Broadway hits from\u00a0\u201cSweeney Todd\u201d\u00a0<\/em>and popular tunes such as\u00a0\u201cDa Doo Ron Ron\u201d and \u201cMy Girl.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n The Chamber Singers will present music recently performed on their Kansas City- area tour as well as pieces performed at Heartland Health\u2019s Celebration of Life. These include Norman Dello Joio\u2019s\u00a0\u201cA Jubilant Song\u201d with Ara Ju, instructor of music, on piano; and Eric Whitacre\u2019s \u201cWaternight,\u201d\u00a0written for 14 parts, and\u00a0\u201cHow Can I Keep From Singing?\u201d<\/p>\n Concert tickets will be available at the door and are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
