Esther George received an honorary doctorate from Missouri Western in 2015.<\/p><\/div>\n

Oct. 30, 2024–Missouri Western State University will present the Voices of Missouri Women in the Federal Reserve, a traveling display, in the Spratt Hall Atrium featuring from Nov. 4-8.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This exhibit highlights the voices \u2013 past and present \u2013 of several trailblazing women from the two regional Federal Reserve banks in Missouri. Their stories herald how these women broke through gender barriers into the male-dominated world of financial services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Missouri Western alumna Esther George \u201980, former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, is among those featured in the display. George, a native of Faucett, Missouri, received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western in 1980 and returned to accept an honorary doctorate in 2015. She served nine years on the MWSU Foundation Board and received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n

George will be honored at a reception on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. in the Spratt Hall Atrium.<\/span><\/p>\n

This limited-time display is free and open to the public from Nov. 4-8 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Spratt Hall Atrium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
