{"id":11116,"date":"2023-05-09T15:21:20","date_gmt":"2023-05-09T20:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/?p=11116"},"modified":"2023-05-09T15:21:20","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T20:21:20","slug":"board-of-governors-approves-2023-24-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.missouriwestern.edu\/news\/2023\/05\/09\/board-of-governors-approves-2023-24-budget\/","title":{"rendered":"Board of Governors approves 2023-24 budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">May 9, 2023&#8211;The Missouri Western State University Board of Governors approved a balanced operating budget for Fiscal Year 2024 at their regular April meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The $76 million budget includes a 1% pay raise for employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe Board of Governors remains committed to the four-year compensation plan they approved last year to bring wages in line with the job market,\u201d said Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, Missouri Western\u2019s president. \u201cI\u2019m pleased that we\u2019re able to include an employee pay raise in this year\u2019s budget.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The budget includes an increase of 7.5% in tuition. Tuition will rise from $240 to $258 per credit hour for in-state undergraduate students, with tuition and fees totaling $7,176 per year for a full-time student taking 24 credit hours. The budget also includes increases of approximately 4% in housing rates and 5% in meal plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Missouri Western State University is a student-centered learning community preparing individuals for lives of excellence through applied learning.
