D\"threeec. 14, 2022–The Bushman Planetarium at Missouri Western State University will present three public shows at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 20, 21, 22 and 23.The planetarium is located inside Agenstein Hall, room 147. \u201cStars of the Pharaohs,\u201d Dec. 20 and Dec. 21<\/b><\/p>\n

Travel to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings. You\u2019ll learn about the connection the ancient Egyptians felt with the stars and various astronomical phenomena, and experience some of the most spectacular temples and tombs of the ancient world recreated in all of their original splendor.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMystery of the Christmas Star,\u201d Dec. 22 and 23<\/b><\/p>\n

Journey back over 2000 years to Bethlehem as we seek to discover a scientific explanation for the star the wise men followed to find the baby Jesus. This modern retelling of the Christmas story is sure to charm and captivate audiences of all ages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bushman Planetarium features a Digistar 4 projection system and a dome that is tilted slightly, rather than directly overhead, making viewing easier. The Dolby 5.1 surround sound system enhances your viewing experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children, students, military and seniors. Planetarium tickets must be purchased in advance, either online at <\/span>missouriwestern.edu\/planetarium<\/span><\/a> or in person at Agenstein Hall 140 during regular business hours 8 a.m.-1 p.m and 2-4:30 p.m. Monday- Friday through Dec. 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
