Nov. 29, 2022–The social work program at Missouri Western State University will host its annual Human Rights Fair on Thursday, Dec. 1. The event includes a poster session and a keynote speech by social work alum Alex Peters \u201815. The Human Rights Fair is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n

The poster session will be presented by social work students in the Blum Union lobby from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The juried posters highlight and explore human rights issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

The keynote speech by Peters will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Enright Community Room, Spratt Hall room 214. Peters completed her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in juvenile delinquency and a minor in childhood studies at Missouri Western, and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Arizona. Peters runs her own private practice where she sees a variety of patients, with a special interest in aiding transgender individuals with access to transitioning services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
