Becky Dunn<\/p><\/div>\n

Aug. 20, 2021–Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, Missouri Western State University\u2019s president, has named Becky Dunn as the University\u2019s Chief Communications Officer. Dunn is currently chief of staff for the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCommunication is more important than ever, and Becky has the combination of skills and experience to help Missouri Western communicate clearly with our internal and external audiences,\u201d Dr. Kennedy said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to join the leadership team at Missouri Western,\u201d Dunn said. \u201cMy entire career has been spent in higher education, and I look forward to continuing that tradition by promoting the transformational role Missouri Western plays in the lives of students, faculty, staff, and the St. Joseph community.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dunn has worked for DHEWD since 2018, serving as assistant commissioner for strategic communication and outreach before becoming chief of staff earlier this year. Previously, Dunn spent 15 years at the State Technical College of Missouri in Linn, first as assistant dean of enrollment management, then as social science instructor and legislative liaison. She was also coordinator of student orientation and transfer affairs at Northwest Missouri State University. She has a bachelor\u2019s degree in history and journalism and a master\u2019s degree in history, both from Northwest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As chief communications officer, Dunn will <\/span>develop, implement and measure the marketing and communications strategy for the University including integrated marketing across channels, branding, media relations, internal communications and social media. She will oversee the Office of Marketing and Communications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dunn will begin her duties at Missouri Western Sept. 13.<\/span><\/p>\n
