The exam info will be sent in email to all that are eligible as soon as possible during the first week of fall and spring semesters.<\/span><\/i><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

When do I take the EPP?<\/b><\/p>\n

You are eligible if you have 90 or more credit hours. The exam must be completed prior to graduation in order to receive your degree.<\/b> You may be waived from taking the exam if you have taken most of your general studies credits at other institutions. Your transcript transfer hours will be evaluated to determine whether or not a waiver is possible. If you are not sure if you have already taken it, please check your GPS<\/strong> for your status. If it has been taken or you have been waived, that requirement will be checked off.<\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE: <\/span>If you are graduating in the summer, you need to sign up for a spring exam session<\/u><\/span>. <\/span><\/b>No exit exams are scheduled during the summer session.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Why take the EPP?<\/span><\/p>\n

The Educational Proficiency Profile (EPP) is an online exam that assesses student learning in the areas of critical thinking, reading, writing and mathematics. It is designed for colleges and universities to assess general education outcomes and inform teaching and learning. Your scores will be compared to scores of other graduates across the nation. The success of Missouri Western students on the EPP influences the perceptions others have regarding the quality of MWSU programs and the value of your degree.<\/p>\n

No preparation is needed, as this is measuring your general knowledge.<\/p>\n

How will I be notified to take the EPP and how do I register? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Check your Missouri Western email! Be sure to check your spam and promotions folders, as sometimes the emails go there. Notification and information will be sent via email the first week of Spring and Fall semesters<\/b>. A link to register for the exam is in the email. In the event that you don’t receive an email, there is an additional link to the registration located in your Griffon GPS<\/b>. You may also link to the registration page HERE<\/a>. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Please register as soon as possible as available time slots fill quickly. Registering will guarantee a seat will be available for you. PLEASE REMEMBER, not everyone will be able to get a seat at the end of the semester or on the last day scheduled. Waiting until the last weeks of the semester to sign up is not a great plan. If you sign up for the last date available and then are sick that day, or something else comes up, you are left without any choices.<\/p>\n

Please note as of July 1, 2023, a $25 University Exit Exam Fee will be assessed to your student account upon completion of the test.<\/p>\n

Approximately 12 exam sessions are offered during the Spring and Fall semesters. If you fail to register for one of these times, special individual testing times are provided at a cost of $85 per person plus the exam fee of $25.<\/p>\n

What should I expect when I arrive? <\/strong>
\nArrive on time! Late arrivals will NOT be permitted to take the exam. You will need to present a picture ID<\/strong> to take the exam. Allow one hour for the exam.<\/p>\n

What do I need to bring with me? <\/strong>
\nBring your picture ID, a pencil\/pen. A calculator will be provided for your use. You may not use the calculator on your phone or computer.<\/p>\n

How am I notified of my score? <\/strong>
\nYour score will automatically display to you after the completion of the exam.<\/p>\n

What if I need to cancel and reschedule the exam time that I signed up for?<\/strong>
\nPlease email testing@missouriwestern.edu<\/strong><\/a> as soon as possible in order to cancel and reschedule your exam.<\/p>\n

Please note: If classes are cancelled for weather or other reasons, exit exams are also cancelled.<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

What about taking the exam remotely?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A remote exam may be requested for special circumstances only. If you wish to request a remote exam, please send an email to testing@missouriwestern.edu<\/a> <\/strong>explaining your reason for needing this service. There will be an extra $40.00 fee (in addition to the $25 exam fee) for this service and the processing of your request. If your request is approved, you will receive a new email with directions for registering, paying the fee, and taking the exam remotely. Also, the dates and seats for doing this are very limited.<\/strong> Exams will not be scheduled on weekends, holidays, or evenings. If you require an exam that is not on a scheduled day, the fee will be $85.00 (in addition to the $25 exam fee) for an individual exam.<\/p>\n<\/div>
