Seventeen nurses were honored from 150 nominations.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Missouri Western Chorale<\/strong> was selected to perform at the 2012 Governor\u2019s Candlelight Tour, an annual event at the governor\u2019s mansion in Jefferson, City, Mo. The Chorale performed a concert on the front steps of the mansion and on the mansion\u2019s Grand Staircase for the crowd of thousands. Gov. Jay Nixon and his wife, Georganne, told the group that it was the best choir that had ever performed in the mansion.<\/li>\n<li>Music students <strong>Adrienne Collins <\/strong>and <strong>Donovan Jones <\/strong>were invited to perform at Gov. Jay Nixon\u2019s inauguration reception in the capitol rotunda in January 2013. Adrienne was also selected as a finalist for the George London opera competition in Chicago.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Prairie Lands Writing Project <\/strong>was selected to participate in the National Writing Project\u2019s $14.9 million, multi-year \u201cCollege-Ready Writers Program and Evaluation,\u201d a highly-competitive federal i3 (Investing in Innovation) research grant.
