Elliott<\/p>\n<p>While the theme of Homecoming was officially \u201cWhere Dreams Come True,\u201d Missy B. Elliott\u2019s lyrics may have been more accurate. Despite all of the hard work and planning, the weather chose not to cooperate and the parade had to be cancelled.<br \/>\nBut while it may have dampened the clothes and shoes of the numerous alumni and families who showed up to walk in the parade, it didn\u2019t dampen our Griffon spirit, as the rest of the Homecoming activities continued on.<br \/>\nArts, Beats, and Treats continues to grow in popularity. After the parade, community members flooded the Blum Union lobby for free family activities and continued on to the tailgate \u2013 the tailgate that ended up being inside as well. It was exciting to see numerous alumni pick up their new \u201cGriffon Alumni\u201d shirts, but even more exciting to see was the all young kids wearing \u201cFuture Griffon\u201d shirts.<br \/>\nThese events continue to grow, and we are seeing more and more legacy students at Missouri Western, something that bodes well for our future. While the storms may have placed a cloud over our Homecoming day, it could not diminish our Griffon spirit. One of the great things about a storm is that we always know a silver lining and bright future are ahead. Homecoming was a microcosm of the bright future we all look forward to at Missouri Western.
