Listed below are instructions for locating the MAC address of various devices that do not support the standard MWSU network security. Once you have used these instructions to acquire the MAC address of your device, you will need to submit it using the MAC Address Submission Form.

NOTE: All smartphones support connection to the secure WiFi network. Stop by the IT Services office in Hearnes Center room 110 for assistance in getting connected.

Instructions

  1. Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the tray.
  2. From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings.
  3. From the Settings screen, select Network Settings.
  4. The MAC address is the 12-character code at the bottom-right corner of the Network Settings screen.
  5. Once you have the MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your Xbox.

Note: Newer updates may look different the what is presented here, but organized similarly.

  1. Go the the System Settings area of the My Xbox channel.
  2. Select Network Settings.
  3. Select the Configure Network option.
  4. Under the Basic Settings ensure the IP Address and DNS Settings are set to Automatic.
  5. Select Additional Settings and the view Advanced Settings.
  6. At the bottom of the screen you’ll see a heading called Wired MAC Address.
  7. Once you have the wired MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your Xbox 360.

  1. One the main desktop, navigate to Settings > Network.
  2. Choose Advanced Settings and on the right you will see the wired MAC and wireless MAC.
  3. Register the address(es) at the MAC registration page to register your Xbox One on the network.

  1. From the Wii Channel Menu, select Wii Options (The round ‘Wii’ button on the bottom-left of the screen).
  2. Select Wii Settings.
  3. Scroll to the right to ‘Wii System Settings 2’ and select Internet.
  4. Select Console Information.
  5. The wired MAC address of the Wii console is displayed under the LAN Adapter MAC Address.
  6. Once you have the MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your Wii.

Slimline PS2

  1. Turn on your Playstation 2 console with no game disc in the tray.
  2. From the main screen, press the triangle button.
  3. This will bring up the System Information screen where the 12-character MAC address will be listed.
  4. Once you have the MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your PS2.

Original PS2

  1. Power up the Playstation 2 and load the Network Adapter Startup Disc.
  2. Once it has loaded, select ISP Setup and press X.
  3. The ISP Setup will begin to load, and you will be presented with a license agreement. Select Agree and press X to continue.
  4. For connection type, choose Local Area Network (LAN) and press X to continue.
  5. Select Automatic Configuration and press X to continue.
  6. At the connection test screen, select Advanced and press X to continue.
  7. At the Advanced Broadband Settings screen, make sure Automatic is selected. While you are at this screen, make note of the MAC Address at the bottom.
  8. Once you have the MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your PS2.

  1. Go to Settings on the Cross Media Bar (XMB) and select System Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select System Information.
  3. Your MAC address will be the first item listed.
  4. Once you have the MAC address, submit it at the MAC registration page to register your PS3.
