Through International Student Council, I have made many friends who are here to support me when I feel homesick. It is a safe and friendly environment, the students are provided the freedom to celebrate their beliefs, while treating each other with respect as members of the same family. I also enjoy the events the International Student Services organized to help us promote and share our own culture. I am grateful to be part of this family! . . . I studied at MWSU as an exchange student two years ago, and I had two wonderful semesters here. Thus, I decided to come back to pursue my academic dream after I finished my study in China. All my teachers are very nice, and they help me a lot and give me many great advice on my future development. My life here is colorful because there are abundant activities on campus, and people here are very enthusiastic. In addition to getting a good education, I grew up a lot, equipped with international perspective and cross-cultural skills to face the world. . . . Missouri Western gives me a lot of opportunities not only in education. It all began with the International Student Services office which supports students to make them succeed and to involve the students with the new environment. The campus atmosphere makes everyone feel like we are one family. Also all staff and professors do their best to make everything happen for meet student needs. Plus, the activity on campus and off campus, even if it academic or social, gives more benefits to students for their education and personal growth. All students who I know graduated from Missouri Western, they got jobs of their dream. All thanks to Missouri Western. . . . I am truly happy that I have had the opportunity to choose to come to Missouri Western State University. I have started school here last year, fall of 2016 and currently in my second semester. As I go on to the next semesters, I discover how each and every semester is so different from one another, full of adventures, fun activities, beautifully organized events and how important our “International Family” is to me and all of us here. My experience so far have been one of the best in my life. Encouragement, self-development, support-system, and name it all and I got them through all my amazing friends I have made here. I couldn’t be more blessed. The professors too are friendly and they are always there to help me out and my International Family is my second family, my own family here in the U.S. away from home. . . . International Student Council welcomes all students. The council's President, Dianah Hidzir or better known as Dena, is an Undergraduate Senior, Public Relations major from Malaysia. She believes that "being one of the international students here is more than just being a student. It is also being a part of a big family, providing you that sense of belonging; other than what you get when living in your own home. The knowledge that you gain, the experiences that you share, and the friendships that you create are the treasures that will make you appreciate being in college much, much more."
