February 2014 Field Trip
A bit of Missouri history was the theme for our February field trip. The students in the IEP explored the once-sunken treasures of the Steamboat Arabia at City Market in Kansas City, MO.
Our guide explained how the steamship had gone down in the Missouri River during a storm and the only causality was one poor mule.
Three men and their families decided to try to find the Arabia and were amazed at what they found–everything from fabric to farm tools!
After our visit to the Arabia, students were encouraged to try something new by visiting the diverse restaurants around the City Market.
To end our trip we visited the Asian Market where students, guests and teachers purchased some really tasty food.
