UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICER– University Police Department, shift work; performs various law enforcement functions as well as safety and security work for the campus, enforcing federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and ordinances as well as campus rules, regulations, and policies. Candidate must project a positive image and the ability to work in a diverse population. This position requires a person who is organized, able to multi-task, possesses strong oral/written communication skills, set priorities, and the ability to interact with others in a friendly and professional manner. REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; P.O.S.T. Law Enforcement certification required; Missouri P.O.S.T. certification preferred, P.O.S.T. certification from other states will be accepted if they can transfer to Missouri P.O.S.T. certification and be eligible for Police Commission at the time of hire. PREFER: Minimum one year Campus Law Enforcement experience and/or school resource officer experience. Background investigation/physical agility/personality profile testing administered. Missouri Western State University – Programming Associate in St. Joseph, Missouri

POSITION SUMMARY: The Programming Associate analyzes, designs, programs, and maintains both web-based and Windows-based applications and scripts; services and maintains the IMC file servers; and assists with the maintenance of campus web servers. Performs web server administration using IIS and Apache.

Specific job duties: Independently designs and creates web and desktop applications, web forms and scripts, using HTML and CSS; programming with VB.NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, VBScript; platforms and frameworks ASP.Net, Web forms Framework, Classic ASP, MS SQL, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, MS Access, ADO; and Data source object notations: XML and JSON. Performs data manipulation and reporting through the use and creation of SOAP and REST web services. Uses SQL databases for data storage and retrieval for the applications. Performs data manipulation for reporting and statistics generation using SQL databases. Maintains, administers and backups the virtual machines, departmental file server, SQL and MS Access databases. Assists with the creation and design of departmental and campus Web sites. Assists with the development of short and long-range plans for Web-based services. Perform other duties as required. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Programming . 9 months of experience with the following: web design using HTML and CSS; programming with VB.NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, VBScript; platforms and frameworks ASP.Net, Web forms Framework, Classic ASP, MS SQL, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, MS Access, ADO; and Data source object notations: XML and JSON. Demonstrated ability with the creation of desktop and web applications, web forms and scripts. Demonstrated ability using SQL databases for data storage and retrieval.
