Vice President for Financial Planning & Administration-Missouri Western State University (MWSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Financial Planning & Administration. A direct report to the University President, the Vice President for Financial Planning & Administration provides leadership, organization and coordination for the financial affairs of the university; oversees the administrative services for faculty, staff and students, including finance, physical plant/facilities, information technology, human resources, university police, risk management, and contracted bookstore and food services; serves on the President’s Cabinet; and assists in the development/review of university policies.

 MWSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and is an AQIP participant. The university is located on 723 beautiful acres in St. Joseph, Missouri, just 35 minutes north of Kansas City International Airport.  Specific Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, business administration, or higher education administration along with supervisory and budgetary experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Substantial successful experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and administrative oversight.
  • Broad technological, human resources, and financial knowledge.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in database management, report preparation and public presentation.
  • Successful and sustained record of effective leadership, supervisory, management and organizational skills.
  • Clear understanding of state and federal government, as well as appropriation structure and processes.
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.

EVENTS & NEW STUDENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR–  The Events & New Student Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing and managing all first-year programming for the University, including orientation programs, Griffon Edge Orientation and Freshmen Seminar; and functioning as a liaison with the campus and community for transition and engagement initiatives for first-year students. HEAD WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COACH- Missouri Western State University invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. EXERCISE SCIENCE/PHYSICAL EDUCATION- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR- (full-time, tenure track) position to begin August 2019. The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Missouri Western State University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to teach classroom and online undergraduate courses in Exercise Science. Course may include sport and fitness nutrition, principles of aerobic training, exercise for special populations, advanced cardiovascular physiology, and applied techniques in personal training. The successful candidate will teach and develop coursework in Exercise Science in response to departmental needs and his/her area(s) of expertise, advise undergraduate health, physical education, and recreation majors, supervise field-based clinical and internship experiences, serve on committees within the department and college, engage in professional service and scholarly activities. The department features a recently updated Health/Exercise Science Lab as well as a newly renovated Personal & Commercial Fitness lab. LEGAL STUDIES & SOCIAL WORK INSTRUCTOR – (position begins August 2019) – to teach undergraduate courses, advise students, and participate in department/college activities in an ABA approved Paralegal (Legal Studies) Program and a Social Work Program accredited by the Council for Social Work Education. PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT PROGRAM FACULTY– (tenure-track) – The School of Nursing and Health Professions is seeking a full-time faculty member (Assistant/ Associate Professor) to teach in the physical therapist assistant, Associate degree program beginning August 2019. Responsibilities include classroom teaching, Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) responsibilities, and teaching and evaluation in the physical therapy laboratory. Additional responsibilities include scholarship and professional development related to the teaching of, and practice of physical therapy; advising students; and providing departmental/university support. The PTA program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). REQUIRED: Master’s degree in physical therapy, or Associate degree in physical therapist assistant with Master’s degree in a related field; and active, unrestricted licensure as a Physical Therapist or PT Assistant in the state of Missouri (or ability to obtain this license). The position requires 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a U.S. jurisdiction. Additionally, either 2 years of clinical teaching experience as a CCCE or Clinical Instructor (CI) or minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program is required. PREFERRED: Doctorate in PT or related field. Five years (or the equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes three years of clinical experience. 3 years of full-time didactic experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment. ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR- MANAGEMENT- The Steven L. Craig School of Business at Missouri Western State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track  position in our AACSB Accredited business program beginning August 2019. This position will require teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Management and Entrepreneurship. REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Management (or related business field) from an AACSB accredited institution. Applicant must have some college/university-level teaching experience.
