Missouri Western provides a defined benefit retirement plan (MOSERS) for eligible employees who do not hold faculty rank and those hired with faculty rank prior to July 2002. Contributions are provided by the University with full vestment after five (5) years of service for employees hired prior to January 1, 2011. For employees hired on or after January 1, 2011, in addition to the University’s contributions, employees will also be required to contribute 4% of their gross salary and vesting will be 10 years. Missouri Western provides a 401 (a) defined contribution plan (CURP) for those employees holding faculty rank who were hired on or after July 1, 2002. Contributions are provided by the University with immediate vestment. TIAA-CREF is the third-party administrator for the CURP plan and manages the investment options under the plan.
