Changes in healthcare drive demand—HIIM is one of the fastest growing fields in healthcare.  With the nation’s push towards electronic health records in every care setting; the creation of a national health information exchange network; the analysis and use of the resulting data to drive healthcare policy decisions; and the myriad of laws and regulations that impact health information, it is no wonder that highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals are in high demand.

The Bachelor of Science in HIIM is in Candidacy Status, pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Students who started the AAS degree in Health Information Technology at Missouri Western State University will be allowed to complete the degree.  Careful planning is underway to make sure all requirements are met in a timely manner.  The Associate Degree Program at Missouri Western is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). http://cahiim.org
